The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the design, quality, timeliness, and billing of landscape architecture projects they manage. This individual shall oversee their respective projects to ensure performance is aligned with our company and the highest industry standards. The duties and responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following: 


MANAGEMENT 

  • Manage the Landscape Architecture staff working on the respective Project Manager’s projects to ensure the quality of work is consistent with our quality standards and meets all applicable deadlines and budgets 
  • Identify ways to optimize operations in areas including, but not limited to, client service, communication, design, and production 
  • Maintain and improve employee morale by meeting regularly with staff members and establishing an open line of communication 
  • Mentor staff as necessary to help them achieve their professional goals 
  • Regularly review their Project billings for trends and compliance with annual revenue goals 
  • Keep current on industry trends and evaluate if implementation would benefit the company 

PROJECT OVERSIGHT 

  • Oversee all Landscape Architecture projects under their management.
  • Review sub-consultant contracts as needed and consult with the Principal or their designee. 
  • Establish and retain a leading-edge knowledge of sustainable site concepts.
  • Maintain professional licensure 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong background and success with project and people management
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Robust skills in site planning, planting design, layout, and construction detailing
  • Thorough knowledge and ability to provide creative application of regional plant palette - Understanding of and ability to apply current, sustainable site concepts 
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in all their work
  • Ability to interact positively and professionally with other employees, clients, and teaming partners 
  • Ability to maintain (at least) the minimum CE requirements to support professional licensure 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from a four-year college or university 
  • At least 5+ years of related experience in a management/leadership position
  • Experience with managing and maintaining positive client relationships 

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Lumion, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.
  • Ability to operate essential office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines. 

CERTIFICATE & LICENSES 

Licensed as a Professional Landscape Architect.
