The ERP Analyst (Finance) will play a key role in the implementation of our new ERP system, working within the IT department and collaborating closely with the finance team. Key responsibilities include analyzing business needs, coordinating with cross-functional teams to document requirements, implementing best practices, migrating data and integrations, generating reports, dashboards and KPIs, configuring the system, testing system setup and processes with key users, procedure development, training, and ensuring smooth transition for employees.
Responsibilities:
- Obtains a deep understanding of current processes and needs, focusing on key accounting functions (AR, AP, GL, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Consolidation, Financial Reporting and Analysis. Also obtains a thorough understanding of our operations to assess needs for job costing, product costing, and accounting for our manufacturing, distribution, construction and variety of other businesses.
- Consults with subject matter experts and stakeholders to document their objectives, needs and requirements. Thoroughly understands the current system’s functionality, data, and business processes.
- Facilitates business process redesign sessions and creates documentation as needed for new processes.
- Collaborates closely with operations and accounting teams to design, configure, implement, and support ERP processes and systems. Ensures alignment with business needs and objectives.
- Understands and analyzes requirements, develops process flows, and defines system specifications. Evaluates alternatives and recommends process changes or technology solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Documents current processes, studies best practices, identifies inefficiencies and manual tasks, and recommends opportunities for improvement. Continuously improves system utilization and ensures adherence to formal procedures.
- Ensures data integrity and seamless integration across applications. Gains a detailed understanding of existing integrations tied to the financial system. Collaborates with the data team to design, build and test the necessary integrations for the new ERP system. Oversees the cleaning of master files and manages the migration of data from existing systems to the new ERP system.
- Tests revisions, enhancements, and new releases to ensure systems perform as designed. Develops and executes comprehensive test plans, including user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Provides training and ongoing support to users, ensuring they are well-prepared for changes and equipped to utilize new systems and processes effectively.
- Acts as liaison between business and IT, facilitating clear communication and aligning systems with business needs. Ensures the ERP Project Manager is kept updated to manage stakeholders’ expectations and keep them informed of progress and risks.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, effective communication, and tracking of progress. Works with the ERP Manager to develop and monitor cutover plans during the system migration.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, accounting, finance, or related field; and
- 5 years experience implementing Tier 1 ERP Systems such as SAP, Oracle, Infor, Microsoft ; or
- an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Deep understanding of financial accounting for a multi-legal entity with intercompany transactions.
- Experience with job costing, product costing, manufacturing and construction accounting is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills to foresee and identify problems, evaluate alternatives and recommend effective solutions.
- Ability to think critically about business processes and identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex projects, including coordinating timelines, resources and stakeholder communications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to lead discussions, influence decisions and help guide the effort through complex changes.
